Scoil Briahein A Trí is located in a midland town of a population of 6000 people. It is a fully vertical     ( Junior Infants to 6th class) and co-educational school. It is not a Gaelscoil.  It has 373 pupils, 29 teachers and 9 Special Needs Assistants. The school has a two-class Special Educational Needs Unit. The school has been given DEIS Band 1 ( Urban) status by the Department of Education and Skills (DES) in acknowledgment of the socio-economic disadvantaged background of a large number of the families that make up the school community. It is a Catholic school under the Patronage of the local diocesan Bishop. In recent years a sizeable number of immigrant families from a variety of diverse backgrounds have also joined the school community.
