In order to bring the efficient outcomes, a unified approach is conducted which is both customer centered and consumer driven. It requires patience and endurance to apply the efficient communication skills along with the counseling theories. The significant learning methods that are available to trainee counselors are reading books, experience, and discussion with the counselors, practical counseling courses and counseling supervision (Lam, Tracz and Lucey, 2013). In order to consistently enhance and boost their skills, the counselors experience continuing supervision to learn about the new theories and techniques of learning, while joining a successful organization (Cowie and Pecherek, 2017). An eminent way of learning the modified techniques of learning is Triads. However, while practicing first learning and applying micro skills, the trainee counselor faces some difficulties (Clarke and Braun, 2013) such as,

  • The feeling of becoming distressed
  • The fear of not being accepted
  • The feeling of not being supported by the students
  • Trust issues
  • Stimulating the solutions and problems of student
  • Role-play to help students efficiently
  • Communicating problems and solutions clearly
  • Making judgments and interpretations
  • Monitoring consumer results

The trainee counselor must clear knowledge about what the client is willing to describe and discuss. They need to set the limits on the amount of personal details, which will be revealed. The trainee counselor should focus on the consumer’s flexibility and openness, because that will help the trainee counselor to know about their strengths and weaknesses.
