Critiques of the Capitalism: 1026210

Capitalism can defined as the economic system in which the government plays secondary role as people and private companies and business are allowed to run the country’s economy. This implies that most of the properties and state resources are controlled by the private sectors since they control most of the economic decisions of that particular state.

Critics on the issue of capitalism has been made by most of the philosophers and the economists  globally since they argue that capitalism economic system has led to the unfair distribution of wealth within the country thus leaving some parts of the country under developed, tendency towards the monopoly in the markets which hinders other small scale entrepreneurs from accessing the market hence unhealthy competition in the market and also repression of workers and trade unions which are set or formed to fight for the rights of workers within the country.

The essay is based on the critiques on both the modern and postmodern capitalism where post modernism can be defined as the approach that attempts to define how the society has been involved in the production process to the era beyond modern capitalism.

In the scenario of the salesman’s death, the critics of the modern capitalism has been portrayed through income instability since the salesman is the breadwinner in the household hence the entire family will be faced by financial instability cases due to high standard of living caused by the modern capitalism while in the case of the Glenn Ross, the criticism of the postmodern capitalism is witnessed through unfair distribution of the resources in the society. Due to unfair distribution of resources within the modern society thus after the second world war, most of the society has been lagging behind in development since most of the investors will prefer more profitable areas to base their investments.

Critiques on the unemployment cases has been witnessed in the death of the salesman’s scenario as his two sons are unemployed that is after completing their studies therefore the salesman has to work even harder so as to provide basics for his family even at older age. The same scenario is also witnessed in the postmodern capitalism as most of the unemployed or jobless members of the society flock at the plantations seeking for job in order to be able to support their families and meet their basics needs.

The living standards has gone high in the case of the death of the salesman’s scenario as the salesmen is expected to drive for a longer miles in order to meet some of his clients. These has negatively impacted his health status due to his older age while in the case of the Glenn Ross scenario of the postmodern capitalism, residents of that particular community are forced to report to the plantation very early in the morning in order to secure a chance of being recruited to work in the farm.
