Naming conventions for the filing system can differ on the basis of the data type which have been kept. I generally use general names for the parent folder as per its data type such as Images, Movies, Videos, Documents, Music, etc. Then the categorical folders I have created based on the genre and theme of the Movies, videos and Music. For document I follow date and document type for naming the folders within the document folders. The inside folders from here are named as per the main purpose of the document. For the images folder I use person or location name, event name and event year for all type of images. These folder contains images shot from smartphone or camera. Smartphone and camera already uses a nomenclature for images based on the number, date and time. Hence, images can be sorted and filtered based on the date-time. This type of naming helps in identifying the part where I should look for each type of data. It reduces time consumptions and enhances the filtering-sorting experience. Naming conventions and structure of the filing system can be explained in tabular view below:

As per the relation to one another, the parent folder will be stored in the main drive containing the child folders. Similarly the child folders will contain all of the data. The depth of this tree like structure is best for limiting the field of search. The depth can be increased as one at most.
