Today here in this report we are going to discuss about role of database administrator. Database administrator is commonly known as DBA. DBA or database administrator plays important role in management of database, for its maintenance and development. The purpose of making this report is to discuss about DBA in detail. Actually DBA role naturally divides into three major activities such as ongoing maintenance of production databases, planning regarding database designs and development of new database applications and to do major changes in database applications. These all are essential functions of database that is why role of database administrator is considered to be important. An employee in an organization whose play role of DBA must have skills and qualification about how to handle database appropriately. The major qualification requirements for DBA are given below and very business organization has this requirement for every candidate who apply for this job. (Dba-oracle.com, 2016)
- DBA must have outstanding communications skills. Database administrator must have understanding about user-interface of all database applications and they also have knowledge to deal with end-user community. College-level communication skills are required for DBA so that it can communicate clearly in both oral and written ways.
- Advanced database administrator staff must have advanced degree in business administration. Besides this, they must have skills to understand firm’s business processes, so that they can perform their duty appropriately. (com, 2016)
- DBA skills includes at-least five years degree of full-time progressive DBA experience. Here certification for DBA will also be beneficial such as OCP and OCM. A DBA should have understandings of related technologies such as Java and Oracle Application Server.
If a candidate has all these skills and qualifications then that have opportunity to get post of DBA in a reputed business organization. The job of DBA is a challenging job in itself.

Here we are discussing about database administrator or DBA whose job is to manage and develop database operations. Our larger region for DBA is New York, USA. In New York, there are various companies that are providing jobs for DBA in field of Oracle and SQL.
Are there many database administrator positions available in Larger Region?
I am working in a database company in New York, USA and there are many database administrator positions available. These positions are Junior DBA, Information Technology Database Administrator, Database Administrator, System Database Administrator II, Database Administrator III and Database Administrator SQL.
Qualifications for Database Administrator Positions
The major qualification for Database Administrator Positions requires good and effective communication skills, five years degree in database administrator and certification in database administrator in oracle or SQL. Besides this, my company also requires one year experience as junior database executives.
Comparison b/w Database Administrator Positions given in organization and in common
There is no such difference between positions of database administrator in our organization and commonly as we have discussed above. Most of the organizations have availability of same posts for DBA. So there is no surprising job duty.

No, in our region, most of database administrator are at contract to permanent positions and only fresher are hired as short-term contracts. There is no direct hired for permanent position for DBA. This is because, in our region various medium and small sized companies exist and they cannot afford to hire permanent DBA for long time.
Salary Expectations for DBA in Region
In case of salary we can say that salary comes in range that we expect for DBA post at contract to permanent or short-term contract. Besides this, with improvement and enhancement in performance of an employee, salary is also increased by companies. Besides this, there are various companies in our region that provide various other benefits to its employees.
Highly used Database product in Region
In my region, most of companies deal with oracle database that is an effective and commonly used products in business organizations worldwide to manage or control different database operations. This product is user friendly and employees in this organization can easily operate on this database product.
Are you interested in job of Database Administrator?
From above discussion, it is cleared that post of DBA requires high responsibility, skills and appropriate knowledge of how to operate different functions of database. But it is an interesting job to perform. There are some reasons that why I would like to work as DBA in an organization and there is also need to furnish database skills and knowledge to get this job done.
- First of all I have interest to manage database records and I have logical information that how database should be accessed and performed.
- I am already working as junior DBA in organization and handling database at small scale and now I would like to move at advance level DBA.
