Data Gathering

I would use the Think-Pair-share strategy to understand the comprehension level of the class. I would undertake the strategy as follows:

  1. Give the class a question
  2. Let each student write down their answer
  3. Allow the students to pair up with a classmate and discuss their answer
  4. After the pairs discuss their answers amongst themselves, have them share the ideas with the rest of the class.

The strategy would allow me to move around as I check their responses to determine their level of understanding and difficulties.

1.The leaners will understand and appreciate that different social and Geographical accents or dialects are used in Australia in addition to the standard Australian English.

2. The students will understand and appreciate the strategies used differ depending on the demand and complexity of the social interaction forum.

The units of work will concentrate on the following KLAs

  1. Listening
  2. Reading
  3. Speaking

The three aspects will help the learners to develop their knowledge in language, literature, and literacy. The students will engage with a variety of texts for enjoyment. They will listen to, read, interpret, and spoken, written and multimodal texts in which the primary motive is aesthetics. By reading those texts the learners will understand that texts are influenced by context, purpose, and audience.
