Component of Class and Why

The rhythm is classified as an allegro because its tempo indicates that it should be played fast, quickly, and bright. The rhythm can be used in contexts or settings that need lively, joyful quality and its memorable melodies, for example ballet classes, films.

Rhythm Feel

The feel of the rhythm is romantic, instrumental, and classical as it was written for special occasions such as wedding ceremonies. The piece is also written for an ensemble of 2 violinsviola, and cello with optional double bass; however, it is often performed by string orchestras (Schwarm, 2018).

Rhythm Movements

The rhythm contains four movements:

  1. Allegro (G major – D major – Ambiguous key – G major): This movement is in the form of a sonata-allegro. It begins with a Mannheim rocket theme that is an ascending order and is followed by a more graceful D major theme.
  2. Romanze Andante (C major): The second movement encompasses a subdominant key of C major, which is in the form of A-B-A-C-A followed by a final coda.
  3. Menuetto – Allegretto (G major, with trio in D major): The third movement comprises of a minuet (key of G major) as well as a trio (key of D major).
  4. Rondo – Allegro (G major – D major – Ambiguous key – G minor – G major): The fourth movement is in the form of a sonata and its key is a G major.
