Interpersonal Communication and Conflict Management: 1151527

Interpersonal conflicts are common to occur anywhere in human life whether in family and working place. Conflict is the process includes struggle between people. Video includes discussion about the importance of government role-play between public and private sector with the management of conflict management. As the government is playing a major role in the management of public facilities (O’Neill & Harsell, 2015).

Solving a conflict is only possible when both parties have interests and involvement in the conflict. Power to act on some agreement is distributed similarly but any misuse of power raise conflicts in the management. Following issues are discussed by Jonathan Marks in his talk show;

  • Conflict arises due to misunderstandings and differences in thinking about the same thing. The government’s social welfare partnership has been taken as an example to explain the different interests as the causes of conflict. Jonathan Marks states in his discussion that the important thing behind a conflict is the interpersonal conflict between two members.
  • Issues involved in the discussion are based on the interest of the government is doing a partnership with big industries to attend the aim of proper health but lack of proper interest in serving the common goal makes partnership fail (Huang, 2010).
  • Interpersonal interest served in the name of public interest is the reason for dissatisfaction at a broad level. Communication for the requirements and results should be discussed for a clear purpose.
  • Poor communication about goal accomplishment leads to the struggle for conflicts among the parties. Managing conflict in the public purpose requires the accomplishment of the common purpose served by the government for the protection of human rights, environment, and community development.
