Answer 1.

The three major concepts that have been discussed in the article are-

  1. Responsive Relationships and Positive Experiences Build Strong Brain Architecture- It has been discussed in this field that although the mind of a person develops with time, experience and observation. But the foundation which means the base of knowledge, understanding and development of brain of a child starts at a young age. For example, the child learn at young age tries to learn the habits by imitating the people they are associated with and with course of time they develop their own significant actions. At this age, their mind is most vulnerable and sensitive. This also informs the reader about two different factors which affect the growth of brain of child. These include external factors such as friends, experience, and family members and internal factors such as genes, hormonal balance, and emotions(pp.7-11).
  2. Adversity Disrupts the Foundations of Learning, Behavior, and Health- This field informs that threat, poverty, maltreatment or any type of physical or mental stress on the child can greatly affect the mental and physical development of child. It is often seen  that children are more likely to suffer trauma in these cases. It discusses about the three types of stress response that can be observed which includes- positive, tolerable and toxic(pp.11-12).
  3. Protective Factors in the Early Years Strengthen Resilience- This field educates the reader regarding different factors that are required for the development of child and presented these factors as Ingredients. The key factors that are required are positive experiences, support from friends, family and children, freedom to express their feelings and good physical health. This can further contribute towards better moral development of the child (pp.12-17).

Answer 2.

The information that are provided in the article are very important to understand about how developmental process of a child takes place. For example, regarding issues related with child development and different factors affecting them. The best part that have been mentioned in the article is that one should focus on how to behave in front of the child and with the child since childhood. These behaviours include helping others, talking politely and listening to what other people are saying. There are many factors associated with the development of child (National Scientific Council on the Developing Child, 2016). It teaches about the two important factors that are associated with the child’s development which are external factors such as experience, people, relations and internal factors such as genes, emotion balance. Knowing about these will help to correctly manage and act accordingly.

The article also warns the reader regarding some of the stress responses that should be observed while dealing with a child. This will help to know the child better and will also help to know that in which are one need to put more effort. The study about all of these factors are important as this can be useful in various ways. One way is that it can help to understand the behaviour of the child and also to know about the different factors that can harm the development of child so that it becomes easier to get control over these factors. These factors include friends circle, school environment and many others. The other importance of the study is that it can be used while educating other people regarding all these factors. This will help teachers as well as caregivers to properly look out over these factors and act accordingly (National Scientific Council on the Developing Child, 2016)).

Answer 3.

Development is a highly interactive process, and life outcomes are not determined solely by genes. The problem that I will face because of this factor is convincing people that genes are not the only factor which defines the personality of an individual. It is often believed that a person’s nature is same as their parents and family members because they have same genes. It is highly believed by people that genes do define the overall personality of a person but it is a fact that personality, development and nature of a child such as aggressiveness, anger, politeness is not only dependent on the genes that they are carrying but also the environment  that they are living. It would be difficult for me to tackle a situation when the whole blame for the act is to be put on the genes of the person despite their surrounding. It is often believed that personality traits are being completely forwarded to the next generation but it is a fact that it alone cannot determine the personality. These factors can further lead to weak therapeutic communication between me and my client. The weightage of external and internal factor may very, but there can be no condition when one component will fully empower the other component. Application of these factors and dealing with different people will be a challenging task while working as a future early childhood educator (pp. 14-15).
