As a member of the ancient Egyptian population, I feel the inhabited system would have been much different and unique. There would have been a specific shaping of the human body which is unlike today’s cultural condition in this information age. In the middle kingdom I would have experienced the flowering domain of arts and literature. The value of aesthetics was of prime importance, which stands so unlike the contemporary technological culture (Canadian Museum of Civilisation, 2010). The civilization then had been much in peace and devoted to arts and activities related to agriculture. Thus, the life there would have been more rustic and rooted so unlike the materialistic lives in the extant sense.
In the present context the people don’t have much time to wonder over the physical appearances because of the lack of time and running life, whereas in 2000 BC, people were found to be very specific about their cleanliness patterns and their appearance in public. In fact, I would have also found the less groomed as the inferior ones. Egyptian civilization was categorized under the zone of suspicion, where it is found that in Egyptian culture people were pure believers in magic and the concept of reincarnation. Thus being a part of such a civilization would have conditioned my beliefs too, and I also as a part of that civilisation would have given a godly or super-natural treatment to my authorities. This is how different cultural nuances shapes one’s identity in the society, and how they clearly lead to the process of identity formation with respect to a given temporal condition and culture(Richards, 2005).
