The work dynamics of any organizations depends on the teams or groups which are formed so that work can be done in a collective manner. In an organization, formation of groups or teams is the basic criteria which management imposes so collective contributions can be made towards the goals and objectives of the organization. As per Edgar Schein, Organizations do not adopt a culture in a single day but the same develops over time when employees go through various changes and face problems. The most effective way to provide exposure to employees who are newly recruited is to place them in teams with more experienced employees.  The new recruits would learn aspects regarding the work culture and overall team dynamics as he tries to blend in the team (Sawan et al. 2016). This sync which is achieved in a team helps the organization to achieve a level of efficiency in the operations. The employees are also able to learn the ways of the business and positively contribute towards the goals of the business. These aspects form part of the functional reasons due to which a team is formed. In terms of psychological reasons, teams are also formed so that new recruits can observe the work culture of the teams and learn from the seniors. In this manner, new recruits can become motivated and they would also look to perform for the team Shaw, Chapman and Rumyantseva 2013). If an individual feels accepted in a team environment, then the same provides job satisfaction and also promotes a sense of responsibilities for the employee towards the teams and organization. It is for such reasons that team formation is closely related with both functional requirements and psychological requirements of the employees.
