Introduction
Portfolio has become a necessity for the job seekers experienced or inexperienced because of the current trend in the job market. This process would require extreme dedication and and skills that are sharpened as per the requirements of the firm. Communication
Formal communication between the managers and the employees enriches the organisation and creates a healthy work atmosphere. The benefits for information sharing and effective consultation include level of job satisfaction and commitment from the employees as they will individually try and achieve the duty that is assigned for them. (Business Link, 2012)
This will make the job structures, staff changes, business performances and code of ethics very clear to the employees of an organisation. Communication in short gives clarity and results to managements and employees action by erasing misunderstandings and enhancing trust among the members (Patrau, D. D, 2011). It also helps in establishing better intercultural relationships which is a necessity in organisation because of globalisation (Harvey & Griffith, 2002).

Teamwork
Organisations are not made up of individuals any more but they are made up of teams. Teams are handed of responsibilities and it is their efficiency and harmony that creates the end results that is required by an organisation (Robbins & Judge, 2011). This means that being a team worker is pivotal to any organisation as it determines the amount of team productivity in an organisation. It is highly important to form positive relations in a team so that there will be substantial progress in group potency. Group potency is a highly motivational factor and is highly motivational in nature. this is only possible if the members of the team are cooperative and are team players and are working towards the achievement of the targets and the goals that are set for them (Lee, Farh & Chen, 2011).
Some of the necessities of becoming a team player are being mindful about value and analysing how a person’s values and beliefs will affect the interaction. A team player will understand sufficient amount of psychology and be aware of adequate communication techniques and conflict resolution techniques. Mutual support is an integral part of the team management. Observation and openness to change is also an additional feature that is required in a team (WHO, (n.d)).
Responsibilities given to me as a person are taken care of efficiently under normal circumstances. This would mean that I am efficient as a person and fails when it comes to the team.
Problem Solving
An employee is bound to face problems in his career and his life. The speed of productivity increases with the speed of problem solving as a problem needs to be solved for enhancing creativity. A person who is a problem solver correctly identifies and analyses the problems while improving the core skills. This would mean a range of solutions are identified to best solve the problems and thereby increasing the chances of proposing an effective solution. The process is thereby managed smoothly ensuring that there will not be any reoccurrence of the problem (BPS, n.d).
Being intelligent is about seeing relationships, thinking abstractly, problem solving and learning about new skills. Problem solving occurs at both social and emotional levels. This attitude requires experiences and can only be possible through a realistic goal setting, understanding and analysing the situation. They need to maintain a positive outlooks and systematic analysis and fast thought process. Practice should be taken in the problem solving techniques. Mock problems can be kept in front of beginners and then ask them to solve it accordingly guiding the students through the real way of finding the alternative solutions (Hall, 2007).
I have considerable amount of problem solving skills, but more practise and effort will help to to increase the speed of my problem solving. I also try to analyse case studies where a situation is presented and how a range of problems are solved.
Organisations have now reached up to a scenario where there is a constant need of leadership. Self awareness is the initial steps of self management efforts and also provides a basis for priority setting, development, change, introspection and choice. Self management forms a leader as a leader is not only responsible to manage oneself but also the whole team (Rothstein, 2010)
Self awareness is the basis of self management and this can be made through giving feed backs to people through 360 degree feed back and many other measures that are very much alike. Self management can be improved with the help of training. Some of the methods are to set a goal to achieve and analyse the achievement rate. High amount of dedication is required from the participators as they have to dominate their behaviours, restrict themselves in case required and also brainstorm problem in case they arise (Latham & Frayne, 1989).
As an individual I am very enthusiastic about the events that are happening around. This would mean that I tend to stray away from the basic objectives that are set. I am also partially right brained and am artistic in nature. Though being an artist is worth praise, not being able to manage self and over involvement in a lot of affairs is not good.
The importance of planning and organisation cannot be overstressed in an organisational atmosphere especially because it is highly dependent on the plans. Planning is the process where in the goals are set and means of achieving them are also set. Organizing without planning is also not possible and without those organisations are bound to loss their target on achieving the goals (Rao, 2008). Some of the benefits that can be derived out of planning and organising are optimal use of the efficient resources, goal setting that is proper and achievable, management of uncertainly and risk, building up teams in accordance to the requirements of the targets, and creation of competitive advantages (Griffin, 2012).
Knowing understanding ones surroundings is the basis for planning. Having a goal set in the mind inspires a person to plan along with brain storming. Situational analysis and forecast of the situation to arrive is necessary for planning (Griffin, 2012)
As an individual I am good at planning. The set plans are very strategic in nature. I fail to stick on to the same plans when it is highly required. This is a trait that should be changed so that my portfolio becomes good enough to be appreciated.
Use of Technology
Technology is updated around the world on a daily basis and organisations now fail to exist without making optimal use of them. Data bases are used for data storage and information processing. The world has become a global village through technology enhancement. Virtual teams exist in parts of several countries to support the various requirements of organisations. Information systems are now used for decision making and information processing. There is hardly a way for a person to survive without having basic technical knowledge (Dawson, 2007)
When considering the impact of technological implementation in the organisations it can be seen that it is a massive challenge to the users of it with in an organisational atmosphere. New technologies are being implemented to complete processes faster and it can be seen the new projects are integrated with technology. The predictability of technological use in an organisation is also very less. This would mean the employees have to rise up to the level of technology that is implemented in an organisation and support innovation. This helps in creating a competitive edge in all directions (Dawson, 2007).
I am highly interested in technical perspective and am amazed by the improvement an organisation and life can make by integrating them in life. I have the basis knowledge of MS office, C++, SQL and Oracle. This makes my performance even better as an employee. I am also not scared of the technological revelation that is happening in organisations (Dawson, 2007).
Initiative and enterprise
Initiative and Enterprise makes an individual independent in terms of thinking and behaving and enhances effective functioning of the person as an employee of an organisation. This can be done only when a person concentrates on continues improvement and is not reluctant to take up responsibilities. The confidence of a person and self assurance can be calculated on terms of the initiative action that is depicted by him or her. Most of the initiatives that are seen in an organisation are because of the initiatives that are taken by the employees and they are well benefitted for the actions. The importance of enterprise and initiative in moving up the ladder cannot be underestimated as initiative enterprise is the ladder to career development (Robbins & Judge, 2011).
As a person my initiative action is very low, but I am very good at doing things that are given to me. This trait has to changes as I have to outcome the initial reluctance and there by become a part of the organisation.
Developing abilities for building positive relationships in life and work
The importance of the ability to develop positive relations is highly important. The irony behind this is that a supportive and healthy environment is highly important for the creation of employment relations that are robust. Strong employment relationships will make friends who are friendly and helpful, find the work interesting, balance personal life and work simultaneously and will have positive demands out of the job. That also means reduced amount of greediness. There would also be high level of trust and commitment from the employees (Lowe & Schelleberg, 2001). This is a situation that is highly important for the welfare of the organisations.
As a person I tend to make fewer friends but I also tend to have relations with people. My initial reluctance of mingling with people may stop me from climbing up the ladder more frequently.
Participation is Life Long Learning Supportive of Goals
Learning is a lifelong process and good employees and managers should always be willing to change, to unlearn, attract new ideas and learn new approaches during their life time. But learning process should be targeted at the various goals in an organisation. Remaining in focus is highly important for the managers. True managers are the ones who get along with employees and people and learn themselves while imparting knowledge to other people in the process. The motivation level remains very high in this process and so does the results of the various efforts that are taken by the managers in this case. Organisational learning will be beneficial not only for the managers on terms of their experience in organisations but also on behalf of life (Robbins & Judge, 2011)
As a person I am open to learning and do not let my ego stand in the way of the learning process. This is a very positive trait that I have found in myself and in fact I am very proud of the trait.
Using information effectively to aid personal career development
Working hard is pivotal for making a better career. But working hard will not make a person achieve the results that is required as far as his career is concerned. An ideal career path can be established only through strategic planning and achieving goals of career development as they are set. The employees are given access to much information and this information can only be use full when they are used to the best of levels in the most optimal way. Information must create innovation and strategies that can be developed in to actions and achievements. This is also a way to achieve the career goals that are set. This trait is not only pivotal for the betterment of the organisation but also for the attainment of career objectives Barker & Keller, 1998).
As a person I tend to keep information to myself because of my reluctance. This information is used only when it comes to the responsibilities that are imparted to me. This is a highly negative trait and has to be removed at any cost.
Understanding the Relationship between Work, Society and Economy
It is highly important to analyse the importance and attain harmony with the three major factors that are involved that are work society and economy. The preferences of personal life style by different people are various and this would change the meaning one has for his/ her own work and the choices that are made. It will also help in forecasting and detecting the positive and the negative opportunities and work accordingly. It will also help in exploring the national and local trends. This can be done by confirming and deciding on how important work is to one self and for the contribution that they should make to society and community (Jobsetc, 2012).
I am clear of the achievements I am to make in my life and the life style I need to make. Forcing me as a person to implement the plans that are made is a difficult task where I have to motivate myself to achieve the best of results.

The chances of real career enhancement come in when a person does a job that he/she is passionate about. This will only happen when an adequate career is chosen by the employee after knowing the various opportunities one has around him. Learning is an integral part of career enhancement and one should develop and pursue the goals of learning academically and none academically to pursue the goals. Making an effort to develop oneself for the career will help a person to develop ones career in accordance to it. It is highly important to make decisions and explore the carious options of decision making. The link should be formed between decisions and building the career and the goals that are made should be highly realistic and challenging at the same time (Jobsetc, 2012)
My anxious nature often leaves me confused regarding the nature of the work that should be chosen by me. But my decision is made on becoming a manager as that would help me in realising the various goals that are set by me.
Action Plan
I am student now and the learning process in going on. I also work 3 days in a week and that has made me open to how work life is. My ideal situation will be a time when I reach to a designation where I am the vice president of an organisation by the time I am 40 years of age. I also plan to stick on to the same organisation to a minimum of 5 years and can be extended on the opportunity of growth that is prevalent in the organisation. The major skills that are required would be high education, various types of training, focus on career, goal setting and achievement of them. The level of initiative programs and innovation to be implemented for the purpose is very high for me to attain the stature as VP of a company.
There are various changes to be made in order to achieve this target. The major elements that are involved in the portfolio above also have to be improved for the purpose. I should improve on my communication skills and lower the rate of speech making sure I am pleasant and not misunderstood. I should become a team player where should work in team and work forward towards applying the problem solve issues. The alternatives should be applied and the credit should be mine for the work that is mine and this is not possible until and unless the initiatives are not taken.
I should also manage myself by being aware of the various changes that I have and adhering myself to self evaluation. The results should be taken in a positive way and I should focus on self development and management. I should also see to it that I am updated as new technologies arrive in the market and know the use of implementing them in the organisation. Lack of initiative from my side cannot be compromised and I should take the courage to start initiatives and take considerable amount of risks. I should also try to establish positive relations and communicate with maximum number of people and use them and be used for the purpose of enhancing career.
Conclusion
It can be said that the traits are not separable completely from one another as most of them are interlinked with each other. A professional is highly focused for the purpose of achievement of goals.
