Respected Sir,
I am glad to inform you that your daughter Agatha Miller who is a promising student of my class has been tested as a gifted child. It is important to understand at first that it is a very pristine quality that everybody is not born with. She has this amazing capacity of thinking conceptually and is extremely agile in solving critical problems with the application of problem solving skills ahead of her age. She learns quickly and tends to incorporate her learning in her actions while reading, writing and speaking. She is flexible and responds quickly than others. She has a remarkable sense of humor and creativity. She looks confident with what she does she has extreme expectations from her. She is energetic and enthusiastic and becomes uncontrollably frustrated when cannot meet up to her own expectations (Siegle & McCoach, 2018). She has a strong sense of independence and tends to delve into radicalism as she will grow mature. Therefore, she needs our constant supervision so that the fear of failure cannot engulf her entirely (Renati, Bonfiglio & Pfeiffer, 2017).
It is important for both of us to acknowledge how different she is from other students. As teacher and family we can and must give her enough strength and support so that she can utilize all the power and extraordinary talents she is born with to shine in life. However, she needs to be taught something regarding controlling her excessive emotion (Altintas & Ilgun, 2016). You have to reduce the fear of competition from her mind so that her anxiety of failure cannot bother her that much. We will try to provide her with different strategies through different tools so that she can deal with emotional stress gradually.
Thank you
Part 2
In my letter to the family of the gifted child, I have highlighted how the child is special and is different from other children of her age. I have specifically pointed out the qualities that their daughter has confirming the idea of a gifted individual. From the teaching experience I have learnt that all the children who are gifted or tested to be talented do not necessarily come under the same character traits. Therefore, I have mentioned what special qualities their daughter has in particular. Now, I have also stated how having some emotional excessive turbulence is an integral part of every gifted child that must be addressed with special care and attention before it is too late (Tolan, 2018). Since the children are born with these aggressive attitude, if they are not controlled at a tender age they can grow even more violent and adamant with time.
I have not only communicated why it is important to understand the child and make her understand about how much she should control and how she should act but also explained how it can be done. The child must be communicated and the parents and teachers should be very helpful towards her attitude. The positivity will encourage her so we must provide certain motivating strategies and decision making tools through which she will be able to understand that failure is also a part of life and that way her frustration will also get a place to be vented out.
