The e-readiness of 70 countries is being assessed on yearly basis on a scale of 1 to 10. In order to evaluate the maturity level of companies, there are 1172 companies that are being contacted and the response rate was achieved to be 11% which is equivalent to a total of 130 companies. The selected respondents were interviews through a questionnaire that comprises of 42 questions that were grouped in several sections such as processes, process modelling and socio demographic information. The questions as included in the questionnaire are partially open ended as they provided certain alternatives to the respondents in answering the questions. The companies were contacted through sending them letters in different languages including English, German, Spanish and Japanese. A pretest has also been performed with 10 BPM experts in order to check whether the respondents could easily understand the questions as included in the questionnaire.

However, on the basis of findings from the given study, it is also identified that there are two major requirements that hinders the effective transition to the highest BPM maturity levels and these requirements are that the BPM requires process modelling languages and the BPM tools must be able to integrate the heterogeneous application as involved in the execution of business processes. Both these requirements are essential in the process of successful implementation of BPM within the existing processes of the organisation.
The findings of the study have been effective enough in testing the research hypothesis in an effective manner, because from the findings, it is identified that the main focus area of the research which has been to evaluate the BPM maturity level of companies is effectively answered from the findings of the research. This implies that the findings have been effective enough in testing the hypothesis and from the findings, it is concluded that the majority of the studied companies are at BPM maturity level 2. The positive aspect of the entire study is that the findings as reached by the author is in line to the findings as stated in the existing literature about the BPM maturity levels of companies and this proves the authenticity of the research findings as gained from the conduct of the given research study. However, there can be one limitation that has been identified with respect to the given research study which is that the author has not indicated any limitation of the given research and the author also does not indicate the future areas of research with respect to the evaluation of the BPM maturity level. Apart from this, the entire research study is considered to be highly effective from the point of view of assessing the requirements of BPM tools in successfully implementing BPM to the existing business processes of the organisation.
