The process of total quality management technique was used to develop the quality definations.
b. What was the quality items identified?
Two quality measures were identified namely, the project needed to gain support from departmental staff that wanted new system to provide added advantage and also needed support from the external end-users.
c. How clearly defined were the measurable items?
The staff just wanted that the new system must improve the existing arrangements
d. What information/ data would you need to collect to measure quality against the criteria?
Staff feedback would be needed on regular basis to measure the quality
e. What quality items were compromised because of time, resources or other constraints?
It would be difficult to get feedback from external end users in the allocated time frame of 12 months as they are unfamiliar with the product
Quality Plan: Quality plan for the intranet facility project is given below
Quality items | Measures for each quality item | Units to measure each item | Existing project tools that will provide quality data | Timing of measurement |
Meet the expectations of departmental Staff | Must improve existing arrangements | Feedback | Project communication carried out by managers | Midway through project and again at conclusion |
Meet the expectations of external end-users | Must be user friendly | Feedback | N/A | Midway through project and again at conclusion |

- How were the project sponsor and client involved in quality assurance?
They acted as the approval committee who reviewed the deliverables at each phase of the project
c.Were there any adjustments to quality standards during the project?
No adjustments to quality standards are realised
d.Were there any areas of the project (people, cost, time) that had a big impact on quality during the project?
It would be difficult to get feedback from external end users in the allocated time frame of 12 months as they are unfamiliar with the product
e. How was the quality of project products tested for quality?
The features of new system was compared with that of existing system
Quality Management Issues:
The only drawback seen in the quality management issue is that the department staff has no idea about the scope of the requirement for the project and that no training would be provided to staff once the project is complete. The selected vendor should provide support and assistance even after the project is delivered for a specific time frame.
