They later on analysed it is more profitable to do what they are good at and never moved forward with a conglomerate strategy. The strategies that were adapted by Walmart also include vertical integration strategy. Walmart has also developed its own range of products and they are known as the Sam’s choice. Some of the business they did was like making dog food, cereal, and soda. They do not grow the core items that are required for manufacture. But it can be said that they are into vertical integration, there is a high dependency for Walmart in the suppliers (Carlson, 2004).
