Moreover for the purpose of primary research the survey method using questionnaire has been used which will be conducted on the sample of 50 participants in South East Queensland. This is done in order to understand the event and the impact of the event on the local residents of the area surrounded (Bergh & Ketchen, 2009).
Population
The population taken for the purpose of survey is the surroundings and residents living in the area of the Gold coast. The cluster sampling method has been used in order to determine the likely participants for the survey. Cluster sampling has been used because this is appropriate in this situation due to the prevalence of large geographic area under study and it also becomes difficult to access the overall population. The cluster has been divided into different areas, and the areas will be selected in a random fashion for the purpose of conducting the survey. The whole region has been selected under the cluster because the whole region will face the economic and social impact of the 2018 commonwealth sporting event (Denzin & Lincoln, 2000).
Instrument Design:
The instrument selected for the purpose of conducting the survey for analyzing the impacts is the questionnaire survey. The questionnaire will include the close ended questions includes the predetermined responses instead of the open ended questions. This is done in order to have a systematic data for the purpose of the research. The economic impacts has been measured based on their main impacts this includes the total level of employment, the value addition to the city and the residents life and increase in the level of business sales (Fink, 2002).
Administration Methodology
The survey will be conducted based on the face to face contact and also using the mailing method to all the willing participants who have been selected for the chosen segment of the population under the cluster. The survey will be filled in by the respondents as questionnaire will be provided to them. for the purpose of the survey the respondents that can approached easily is done the face to face survey or interview and rest are sent the mail and they will replay as per their comfort as all the respondents cannot be interviewed personally due to large and discrete population (Fink, 2002).
Data Analysis
The data that will be gathered will be analyzed using the graphical presentation method in which the answer of responses of the respondents will be displayed. This is done in order to make the data reduced and evaluated in an easy manner. The total answers given by the respondents will be plotted in the pie diagram for the easy understandability and making the overall analysis in an easy and convenient manner. A pilot study will be conducted in order to analyze the desirability of the research and check the authenticity f the research purpose (Creswell, 2003).
Pilot Study Results
Under the pilot study the overall research or questionnaire has been filled in by only five respondents. The total respondents include three males and two females in the age group of 30-40. The result of the survey is as follows:

The above portrayed pie diagram shows the results of the questions answered by the five respondents. The questions include the positive and negative impacts of the event on the region and the responses as per the option given and their belief as per the impact in study. There are in all eight questions that are asked from the respondents. The questions are associated with social and economic impacts of the 2018 Commonwealth games. Looking at the analysis it can be said that majority of the respondents believe that there are positive impacts of these events on the region and also brings in a large economic development (Brase & Brase, 2007).
From the questions asked four questions are associated with the positive impacts and rests four are associated with negative events. Most of the respondents agree that there are more of the favorable impacts of the events on the region. As per the first question asked does the event incur the development activities 40 % of the respondents strongly agree on the facts, that yes it has highly have positive economic and social impacts. From the other questions asked it has been analyzed that there are several factors that makes a positive impact on the social and economic front (Bryman & Bell, 2007).
Conclusion
From the above analysis it can be said that the investigation has achieved the rational of analyzing the problems and social and economic impacts of the commonwealth games by the use of the questionnaire method. It can be said from the analysis that there is a large amount of development on the economic and social front of the event in the region and there are several issues which has a negative impact on the region where the event has been organized. It can also be analyzed from the above research that there is a large gathering of the tourists which makes tourism development. It can be recommended that the proper planning and organizing of the event will provide maximum benefits to the region. It can be concluded from the above research that the overall event is organized in order to bring in the development and prosperity but this also have some negative impacts which must be taken care of.
