Today I am going to talk about Harvard’s most successful dropout “William Henry Gates III”. He joined Harvard University in the year 1973, only to drop out after two years and form Microsoft with his childhood friend Paul Allen. When he established his company in 1975, at first he had no idea that this will become the cleverest investment he had ever made.
In January 1975, Mr. Gates made a call to a company in Albuquerque that had begun making the world’s first personal computers. He offered to sell them software, the company agreed to see him in a month. From that moment, he worked day and night on this little extra credit project that marked the end of his college education and the beginning of a remarkable journey with Microsoft.
At the age of 20, Mr. Gates displayed a leadership quality which is not very common to find, he had the courage to put everything at stake and follow his passion. Making millions through programming was not his priority; he was just following his heart, his passion.
