The challenge faced by the managers in today’s time is to find out what kind of communication must they opt for carrying out the effective communication (Bappi, 2011). Being an owner of the small editing organization, problems faced by the organization are business is not performing up to the mark and bills are piling up. I did everything to reduce the cost but still not able to pay the bills on time. The last alternative that I have, after done everything is to reduce the number of workforce from 10 to 6 so I would be able to pay the bills on time and remain profitable. After this, another problem arises what kind of communication channel must be used in order to inform the employees about the reduction in the workforce. I would inform employees about the reduction in workforce through pop- up window and email for having an efficient communication (Francis, 2012). It is not easy to inform the employees about the reduction in workforce on their face, because they feel dejected and feeling insecure about their career. In my opinion, E-mail is an accurate channel of the communication to inform the employees about the reduction in workforce (Fenell, 2011). This channel is best choice in this situation, because this channel will convey the message to the employees without impacting the atmosphere of the Company. On the other side, I would inform the affected employees that they are supposed to go, with the help of personal communication and meeting. In meeting, I would explain that the company is suffered with a big problem; they are not able to pay their bills after every effort of cost –minimization, so at last, the management of the company has decided to reduce the workforce. We can understand your situation, but we have to so please take this reduction in the positive manner for the Company.
