Introduction:
The reflection paper would discuss the major contribution as well as the collaboration by each member of the group while performing the task, activity. - 1st Peer Evaluation:
The peer evaluation is based on the basic questions which were circulated in the class. All the evaluations are made on the likert scale providing marks out off 5.
The evaluations done on the 1st peer highlights the following findings that Zhuloun was always prepared whenever he used to come for the meeting regarding the group project. He as a team member was always ready to contribute towards the accomplishment of the assignment. Another positive aspect regarding him was that he was always on time & well prepared on the topic to be discussed.
As a team member Zhuloun, was always willing to listen as well as consider others thoughts too. He was a member who always initiated to take a fair decision on the part of the entire group. He was a leader & did not dominate anybody in the group.
He always tried to contribute towards the group with new, novel & interesting ideas & also tried to take fair decisions which would not hurt any body’s sentiments, would prove to be good for the completion of the assignment as well.
Zhuloun is systematic in this approach, very much straight forward, well structured as well as an iterative decision maker. He was well acknowledged regarding the cases, content to be placed in the assignment. He took all the responsibilities very seriously & performed it on time.
He was hard working as well as serious regarding the work to be accomplished.
2nd Peer Evaluation:
The other peer involved while doing the assignment was Eng Leon. Similar, to the first group member i.e. Zhuloun, even Leon was quite particular regarding the meetings which were held during the preparation of the assignment or a project. Leon is an initiator & used to come up with great ideas in order to successfully complete the work.
He as a team member always instilled group dynamics. He always used to bind all the members together & tried to dissolve any kind of miscommunication between the group members.
He was too empathetic & used to listen to others point of view as well. Leon was fairly structured, straightforward, & an iterative decision maker.
In spite of the various positives, one of the negative aspects related with Eng Leon was that, he sometimes dominated the whole group in supporting his point of view only. Most of the times, Leon used to overpower the whole group as well as the decision made by the entire group. Another negative aspect regarding Leon was that he never used to initiate any kind of leadership whenever it was required during the completion of the project.
- 3rd Peer Evaluation:
The third member of the group to be valued is Wang, Yang. He was a very active member of the group who was always ready to contribute the maximum in order to accomplish the entire assignment/ project.
He had tact of convincing people & makes them work in accordance to the requirements of the assignment. Apart from contributing the maximum in the group, he never dominated them in regards to the decision making.
He was the one who always had new ideas in store with him & also novel ideas in order to accomplish the existing work in a new manner. He was a firm decision maker & always stuck to his words.
One of the major drawbacks with Yang was that he never used to take up the responsibilities given to him on a serious note. He was least helpful in the group & did not perform his duties on time.
Online Journal Entry:
- 1st Online Journal Entry:
Regular group meetings were organized by me on Monday mornings regarding the completion of the project. Such type of meetings would help to communicate with the entire group & share their views on the common topic.
As a group leader, I took the responsibility to be prepared well in advance as well as organize & divide the work amongst all the group members. The rank given to me by the group member was 4.7 which I think is fairly well as compared to the hard work done by me in order to accomplish the project on time & with due quality.
All the members regarded me as a sincere, a responsible group leader who used to initiate & make all the members feel free to communicate, share their feelings across the entire group.
- 2nd Online Journal Entry:
My collaboration & contribution:
Being the group leader, I had always taken up the responsibility to call for regular meetings on Monday mornings in order to discuss regarding the project. Apart from the regular meetings, we all were connected through regular mails, telephone call & messages.
My contribution towards the accomplishment of the project has been praised. This could be seen by the score which my peers have given to me (4.5). The score given to me on the leadership is quite low i.e. 3.9, but this shows that I need to work upon this part in order to be successful in near future.
The peer evaluation has been quite fair. On an average the score which was given to me has been 4.7 & gives me the motivation to be the leader in future also.
My Strengths & weakness:
One of the strongest areas which are being highlighted by my peer group in me is that I am a hard working individual, actively participates in the discussion & has full knowledge in almost all the areas. I have always acted as a leader & helped whenever any group member loses its direction while doing the project.
Apart from the strengths, there were certain weak points which were pin pointed by the peers. Though, I never used to dominate the entire group, but everybody used to think that, the way I used to deal with the peers was not appropriate. The marks allotted in this section were 3.5 which was way below my expectations.
