The Maslow’s need hierarchy theory will take into consideration that that basic needs of the employees are satisfied. At HP, the top level management shall seek that the five levels of hierarchy are fulfilled. Once the basic needs of the employees are fulfilled, the next level of needs procured by the employees would be the safety needs followed by love needs, esteem needs & attain self actualization (Business Balls. Com, 2010). In order to motivate the employees at HP, the management shall use the Herzberg’s two factor theory. The two types of factors which shall be kept in mind are the hygiene & motivator factors. The management shall try to find out the reason which leads to dissatisfaction. The next motivational theory which shall be kept in mind refers to the expectancy theory. At HP, the efforts are made by the employees to attain expected levels of performance. Once the expected levels of performance would be attained, the employees at HP should be treated with fair rewards (i.e. monetary & non-monetary) for the hard work done by the employees. The last type of motivational move which shall be taken at Hewlett Packard is to provide payment to the employees based upon the two aspects such as outcomes & inputs. This means that, payment to the employees shall be done on the basis of outcomes generated as well as the inputs such as time, efforts, etc invested (Business Balls. Com, 2012).
