Thus these are some facts because of which Britain has been chosen for this report.In Britain, the level of success in school exams is highly dependent on the social class of the child. If Government data is to be believed, there has been an evocative difference between the attainment of educational grades of children of different social classes.In 2008, just 35% pupils belonging to working class were able to obtain five or more good-grade GCSEs, in comparison there were 63% children able to obtain five or more good-grade GCSEs who were from middle class families. The growth in the number of children getting degrees from poor families is just 3% on the other hand there has been a growth of more than 25% in number of children getting degree who belong to wealthier families.David Miliband, the school minister in 2003, once said that the problem in the educational system in Britain is because of the one key fact that it is the worth of the student which counts in his education but not the birth. Nick Clegg, leader of the Liberal Democrats (2009), recently commented that the fact that the educational opportunities available to two children who are born at same time and at same place are simply dependent on the income level of their parent is extremely outrageous and tragic. A study in 1999 by West et al revealed the fact that the correlation between the meals provided for free in the school and the low level of attainment in the school was almost sixty five percent.
Since 1997, the average attainment level of pupils has improved but still the number of pupils who are not able to meet minimum literacy and numeracy levels is very large and intractable. Children who comes from a background which are economically deprived comprise the major part of this tail disproportionately. An alarming picture is revealed from the statistics. In 2006, twenty percent of the children of age 11 years who fall in key stage 2 were not able to achieve national standards in literacy. In 2006 only, just sixty percent of the children managed to reach the undemanding national standard of five good GCSEs (excluding English and maths) and in case English and maths were included the number went down to fifty four percent. An in depth examination of performance of deprived children brought forward a shocking result that out of all those children who were eligible for free meals in schools, just twenty percent were able to achieve five good GCSEs (including English and maths).
A research from government shows that the attainment of deprived pupils are significantly impacted by the extra spending in comparison to the attainment of the affluent children. Learning the method of interacting and understanding people from different ethnicity, race and culture is incumbent for students. The world is becoming small day by day. The diversity and interdependency is increasing globally. Yet, most of the students spend their early years of their lives in enclaves which are ethnically and culturally isolated or encapsulated (Cahill, 1996). This habit of staying in an isolated environment makes them inadequate to operate properly in an environment which is multicultural. Intense interracial and interethnic pessimism, anxiousness, fears, failures, and hostilities are some major obstructions in cross cultural interactions. Imposing rules of social etiquette from one cultural system onto another may also result in negative attitude, values, and expectations which may end up as cultural blunders. Multicultural education system follow the approach where education is imparted by using cross-cultural communication, interpersonal relations, perspective taking, contextual analysis, understanding alternative points of view and frames of reference, and analyzing how cultural conditions affect values, attitudes, beliefs, preferences, expectations and behaviours. It also assists students by making them familiar with a culture without creating a hasty feeling about their intrinsic worth. To attain the goal of multicultural education system, it is very important that students are given ample opportunities to practice their cultural competence and to interact with different ethnic peoples, experiences, and situations.The other reforms that can be implemented to bring equality in the education system in Britain can be as follows:
- At primary schools, the size of classes should be made smaller
- Teachers should spent more time in teaching to disadvantaged children apart from that longet hours for schools and studying on Saturdays should also be introduced.
- ‘Hard to Serve’ bonuses, linked to performance related pay schemes, to attract and reward excellent teaching staff working in the most challenging schools

Many social practices such as discrimination and differentiation which separate human from human, which are evil in nature and are becoming bane for the mankind will come to an end.
