Developing and Implementing service programs and Support Community Action

Assessment 1:

Case Study 1:

  1. The following are the questions that Peter should ask Sally:

– Does she have any other dependent relative or friend who would help in assisting her in her condition

– What is the nature of Sally’s work?

– How much time does Sally spend in travelling in a day?

– How often does Sally need to go to the doctors for a routine check-up?

All these questions are necessary for Peter to ask Sally because these questions cover the various aspects to support Sally’s living. Her independence is a key factor to be considered for providing her a support plan. Her travel plans and routine check-ups with doctor will contribute to the urgency for developing a support plan since disabled people need to be assisted in this regard.

  1. The following are the barriers which could limit Sally’s participation in the program:

– Her dependence on friends and other competent relatives

– Less distance and time taken for her to commute to work and other places.

The above barriers can be overcome if Sally is an independent worker and travels longer distance for working. These will justifiable reasons for Sally to participate in the program.

  1. Feedback can be taken using the following two strategies:

– use of online feedback methodologies which will save time and money of both Peter and Sally in order to maintain a routine of feedback sessions (Zhang et al., 2015).

– employing personnel to have a routine check on Sally’s whereabouts. Having a person to get feedback from Sally about the program will be beneficial for Peter to understand the satisfaction of the program.

Case Study 2:

  1. The people associated with the local Council, managers of the primary school, plant nursery and representatives of the local community centre are the key stakeholders of the Community Garden Program.

  1. Cultural awareness can be facilitated through workshops related to the countries of the refugees. This will have an empathetic response towards the refugees by the stakeholders. Furthermore, understanding their origins, pains and culture will promote a good bond among the stakeholder and refugees.

  1. Communication with the stakeholders will be done through a formal communication methodology (Tenhiälä & Salvador, 2018)

– Strategies using goal-based communication can be employed to instil a sense of achievement in the community. The objective of the communication must be presented in a formal manner so that the stakeholders understand the step-by-step needs of the refugees.

– Communication via use of reports are also a way establishing good communication standards. This is a both proactive and reactive way of addressing the problems of the refugees to the stakeholders. Reports on the current scenario of the refugees will help them understand the condition and specific steps can be taken for their upliftment.
