(Project kick-off meeting AGenda)
This is the responsibility of the project manager to regularly monitor by measuring the progress of the project as per the schedule developed earlier. If any variances are found in the project management plan, required corrective action should be taken by the project manager to control the project deviation. This way the project objectives would be met on time and eth project will be successfully completed on time and within budget
The project performance can be checked by various methods and some of the methods can be like tracking the process for all the proposed changes which should include the change request initiation , log an tracking as well. Then finally it should be assigned for analysis and recommendation.
Issues management would be the best way for verifying and managing the changes proposed. The review process should be developed and the roles of the people or staff involved in the review should be defined and specific resolution actions like rejection, delay or approval should be mentioned in eth change review report.
Project scope should be the priority of the whole project and change because if it would be well aligned then the project objectives would be met and eth project would be successfully completed on time.
It is important to monitor the status of the risks identified through proper and regular assessment and evaluation. Records and reports monthly review related should be generated and the staff should be asked to fill them this will help in monitoring eth regular status of the identified risks in the project.
New risks which might arrive during the project are like while the salon is being made the property rates might increase and the builder might demand for more money for the salon building. Another risk could be that the staff can go on strike due to salary dissatisfaction or any other issue like customers misbehaviour. Other new risks which might hamper the project progress are sudden inflation in the economy will result in price rise of everything nail products will become costlier.
The corrective actions which should be taken by project manager to control, these risks are:
· Proper supervision
· Consultation with employees
· Provision of adequate information regarding safety
· Training and creating awareness amongst the employees of salon.
To handle the fire and electrical shock hazards routine fire checks and monitoring should be there and fire fighting equipments should be in place. Inspection maintenance and routine testing of the gadgets and equipments should be done. To handle eth workplace environmental conditions cleaning schedules, housekeeping, walkthrough inspections and temperature monitoring should be done. Annual gas safety checks should be done at eth nail salon and effective general ventilation and task specific ventilation and replacement of clean filters should be done regularly.
Handling of the hazardous substances should be done in proper manner and precaution should be maintained using assessments and this could be done using protective equipments and providing adequate ventilation.
Stress and dissatisfaction amongst eth staff can be handled by listening and taking cordially with employees and identifying the common and persistent pressures. Questionnaires and relevant feedback from the staff can be taken.
Identification and assessment of risk through the infection sources. Infection can be kept away through effectual disinfection, cleaning and sterilisation of the equipments and workplace. Waste management and protective equipments should be used in eth nail salon which can be disposed after single usage (health and safety and your business: a guide for small and medium sized businesses risk assessment (nail and beauty treatments, cosmeticpiercing and tattooing), 2008).
In this project closing stage the final acceptance of the Board of directors is being taken when the whole nail art salon is ready for inauguration and is totally ready for its grand opening. But before closing eth quality inspection is needed and reviewing of all eth project objectives should be done.
This nail art salon has two products for operation and production which are nail art painting and it is planned to operate beside the University campus so that the target audience are all eth young students studying and living in that area along with the faculty and other residents in the university campus.
The whole project once ready needs to be closed out form the financial, administrative and logistical perspective which means it should be ready to deliver the perfect nail arts services an should be completed within the allocated budget and within the required time.
The lesson learned from this project are that the Nail It would be a successful and profitable venture through proper project planning, control and monitoring, risk assessment, stakeholder analysis and finally closing the project. But during the whole project monitoring and controlling the changes is very vital. Secondly the inputs from the client clarifying what are the project requirements is also important before project initiation because if it is not clear then delivering the desired project would not be possible. The project manager should know and carry his roles and responsibilities in perfect manner to close the project successfully and on time.
