HR Assignment on: Expectations of my friends

I ended up hurting the expectations of my friends the other day in the city train. I had to command them after the multiple attempts of convincing them softly to vacant the seat that was reserved for the aged. They had to get up and stand all the way in the train even after having a long tiring day at the university. It did have an impact on our friendship which according to them was unjustified from my side because I didn’t play the appropriate role when they needed it. The situation was such that the old man was standing and couldn’t gather enough strength to ask my tough and freaky looking friends to vacant the seat which rightfully belonged to him. This situation actually motivated me to speak because I could visualise my own-grandfather in that old man. Even after experiencing the changed behaviour of my friends towards me I still second my decision which I took at that time because the old man deserved to sit and it was satisfying to see that soothing smile he gave me as a gesture of thanks. The things that were in the control of the rest of my friends, i.e. their attempt to support me in convincing the seated friends to leave the seat, should have made it easier for me to act in the same way. As that situation wouldn’t have caused the same change in the behaviour of the two friends who were made to vacant the seat. In fact the change could have been for better and the two friends should have realised their mistake and should have acquired an empathetic attitude.
