1.0 INTRODUCTION
This topic contains background information, aim and the scope of this report
1.1 Background information
Cultural capabilities are the skills, knowledge, behaviors and systems that are required to plan, support, improve and deliver services in culturally respectful and appropriate manner. These capabilities which may enhance cultural integration within Cole retail supermarket are ethical understanding, inter cultural understanding, literacy and creation of awareness (Coyle, 2018).
To enhance diversity and cultural capabilities in Cole retail supermarket there should be ethical understanding within the employees. These are moral principles that govern a person’s behavior or the person conducts a certain activity. There should strong codes of ethics within the company so that to boost uniformity and working together in achieving the company goals and objectives. Employees should regularly sensitized how they should carry themselves in the ethical way. (Nietzsche, 2010)
Employees should understand different cultures and respect them. This Is where different employees practice different cultures but they work at Cole. This can be done by sensitizing people to respect different culture and cherishing each other no matter the culture. Employees should respect each other culture through this they are able to achieve company goals (Brown, 2012)
Cole should also enhance literacy within the company. Literacy helps someone to read and write and acquire skills which are being needed in the society and it also boosts the understanding of somebody. Literacy is a key in the development of Cole organization in that through literacy employees are able to understand cultural capabilities and its importance of steering the organization as a whole towards a positive direction. Literacy helps in improved documentation, less errors and improved compliance, teamwork and communication. (Brown, 2012)
Creating awareness of cultural capabilities is one the key way to help employees understand that people they are working with come from different backgrounds and through this it boosts respect and culture integration which leads to achieving the objectives of the organization (Roosevelt Thomas, 2014)
1.2 The aim of the report
The aim of these report is to:
- Explain the importance of creating awareness in relation to improving cultural capabilities
- Explain the importance of ethics in the Cole organization in relation to improving cultural capabilities
- Importance of literacy in the organization in relation to cultural capabilities
- Enhancing diversity and inter cultural relationship
1.3 The scope
The scope of this report will focus to explain the strategies which could be used to explain how cultural capabilities are important to the organization. Express how cultural capabilities can be used in achieving the organization goals and objectives. Through this report we are able to know what are the causes of cultural rivalry within the organization and the ways which they can be resolved
2.0 Summary and observation

2.1 Summary of interactions
The report conducted its research within Cole organization in order to know how the organization practices its cultural diversity and capabilities in order to achieve its goals.
The major key areas were how the ethical codes will help in enhancing cultural capability in that, do employees have work and cultural ethical codes. In ethics we focused at what was the importance of ethics within the work place in relation to cultural capabilities, does it promote cultural respect if its promoted. Does lack of ethics affect the chain of command within the organization in that there is communication breakdown within the organization in relation to different cultural capabilities (Chester, 2014)
Also the report will focus howl literacy as main key figure enhancing cultural capabilities. This is where the comparison is made between people with knowledge and skills and those who lack it in relation to understanding cultural capabilities. In that able to know if literacy is the key pillar in the whole process of maintaining and enhancing cultural capabilities within Cole organization. (Earle, 2013)
Creating awareness is where people are sensitizing about the importance of cultural respect within the organization. This can be conducted on a regular basis and should ensure that all the people get the information about self-respect and respecting other cultures. Through this people could be able to some knowledge about the importance of cultural capabilities within the organization. (Daniel Goleman, 2017)
Enhancing diversity within the organization will also enhance cultural capabilities in that people from different cultural backgrounds come together and walk towards the same goals and objectives of coal organization. Through this integration from different backgrounds there is enhanced cultural capabilities. (Chester, 2014)
The survey was conducted in a given cluster but all employees gave their views on cultural capabilities and how it could be boosted. The report started taking views from the top managers of the organization then it followed the channel in a descending order to ensure all the workers were able to give their views. (Roger Tourangeau, 2013)
Cole is a diversified organization and it has different branches within Australia, during the conduction of the survey there should be a surety in a way all the views of the people are taken more so from those places where there is more diversification of the culture (Roger Tourangeau, 2013)

From the above response of employees in Cole organization some do understand the importance of cultural capabilities in the organization some do not. This is evident where most do not believe that literacy and intercultural understanding enhances cultural capabilities but also they do believe that creating awareness within the company enhancing and sensitizing about ethical codes within the organization enhances cultural capabilities.
This survey was conducted in places where there were people from different walks of life and different cultural backgrounds. This was the targeted population since through this the survey was able to get clear information about how cultural capabilities are practiced and how best could be practiced within the organization.
3.0 Analysis
This comprises of the analysis of how ethical codes, creating awareness, literacy and inter- culture understanding enhance cultural understanding within the organization as from the survey above
3.1 Creating awareness to enhance cultural capabilities within the organization
This is where people are regularly sensitized about the importance of cultural capabilities. It’s through this people are able to know the importance of culture respect and how it should be enhanced. From the survey conducted 4% were in disagreement that creating awareness will not enhance cultural capabilities while the 96% believed that through regular conduct of cultural awareness will enhance mutual culture respect within the organization (Daniel Goleman, 2017).
The positive response came from top managers and those employees who work in a more diversified place while those who were against it came from places where they are just only one culture (Daniel Goleman, 2017)
3.2 ethical codes enhancement of cultural capabilities within the organization
Ethical code is the enhancement of molars within the organization. From the outcome of the survey ethics plays a major role in enhancement of cultural capabilities. 72% of the employees believed that by enhancing work ethics at Cole organization will enhance respect and thus enhancing organization capabilities. Although 28% believed that ethics just enhance smooth workability in the organization and mutual respect but it does not enhance cultural capabilities within the organization. (Chester, 2014)
From the findings above, ethics in a work place may influence positively towards enhancement of cultural capabilities. Cole should enhance work ethics and through these employees are able to nature in mutual respect and thus able to exercise cultural capabilities (Ciulla, 2010)
3.3 Literacy in enhancement cultural capabilities within the organization
Literacy is the knowledge of understating skills and able to read and write. Cole organization should enhance literacy by ensuring that the employment process considers it as the key pillar. Through literacy people are able to understand the conveyed massages about cultural capabilities maybe in written or any other form. From the survey above 80% of the employees believe that through literacy they can be able to solve all the problems of cultural capabilities. But 20% also believe that literacy is just the knowledge of working so it does not enhance cultural capabilities. (Earle, 2013)
From the above deduction Cole should enhance literacy among the employees so that to enhance cultural capabilities and hence achieving its goals and regulations. (Earle, 2013)
3.4 Inter-cultural understanding within the employees
Intercultural understanding is where employees respect each other culture just the way it is. In Cole organization there should a channel in a way to ensure there Is understanding in each everybody culture. From the survey done within the organization 72% of the employees believe that teaching people about understanding of each other culture will enhance culture capabilities positively. 28% also don’t believe that it will enhance cultural capabilities, but it will promote respect among the employees within the organization. (Lisa Laskow Lahey, 2016)
4.0 Recommendation
The topic contains recommendation on literacy, ethical understanding, intercultural understanding and creating awareness
4.1 literacy
From the above study, literacy is the key player in organizational capabilities. since through literacy people are able to accommodate and respect different cultures with the organization. Through this harmonious working together organization goals are able to be accomplished this can be achieved through ensuring employed people are literate (Earle, 2013).
4.2 Intercultural understanding
Employees from different cultures work in Cole organization. These employees should individually as they respect their culture also they should respect other employees culture. And through this there could be integration within the organization. From the above observation and analysis Cole should enhance cultural understanding to enhance workability in the organization through regular sensitizing (Coyle, 2018).
4.3 Ethical understanding
From the above survey ethics should be enhanced within Cole since through these cultural scapabilities is upholded. This can be done by regular teaching employees about work ethics and how it enhances workability and cultural capabilities within the organization (Chester, 2014).
4.4 Crating awareness
from the observations above, creating awareness about cultural capabilities will enhance workability in Cole. This could be done through regular memos and also regular meetings which could sensitize people about cultural capabilities in the organization (Coyle, 2018)
5.1 Summary and conclusion
Cultural capabilities should be enhanced to ensure a safe workplace and this could be done by the methods shown above like creating awareness and literacy. For Cole to achieve its goals, it should enhance the above principles hence enhancing integration within the employees and ensuring uniform workability.
