SOLUTION

Q. According to PEST Analysis conducted should SHA set-up operations in Malaysia in 2012? State your assumptions clearly.

Ans: SHA should set-up its operations in Malaysia, according to the PEST analysis which covers all the political, social, economic, and technological factors for a firm to be successful. Here in case of SHA set-up it has been technologically ahead in new discovery that is creating a niche residential set-up for international students. Same way SHA has shown good results in social factors too where in it has tapped the education market and after doing research on the living trends of students along with international students it has catered to them too. If we have a look at the economic trends then too it will b every successful project as there are chances of earning great profit margins through currency foreign exchange by investing in Malaysia. Moreover if we consider the political aspect then too it will improve the inter-country relationships between two countries.

Q. What are the compelling reasons for your choice (i.e. return)? And what are the risks?

Ans: The compelling reasons for taking this step of shifting and starting new project in Malaysia is that by doing so SHA will get international exposure to International Business and chances to earn some foreign revenue. The most powerful source out here which can be said the driving force is the prospective clients that are the students, which will never decrease rather always, increase in number in Malaysia. Secondly, SHA has already tasted success by catering to housing needs of international students, so I am quite confident that this could be easily done by them on international shores too. The risks can be like they will have to face competition form local builders of Malaysia who are already renowned and established in the country. Creating a strong and sustainable base and awareness amongst the target market would be the main risk and problem they will be facing.
