Objective
The document is an attempt to answer the few questions which may be helpful in letting the production team of Phantom Invasion, to predict the success of the movie. The production team also plans the release of the sequel for the movie in case the movie is a hit.
Performance of Movie Genres at Box Office
There different movie genres which categories the type of a particular movie. We have a data set which tells us the business done by a particular genre at the box office. So, let ‘us summarize the vital statistics of the business done by a movie.

The above table summarizes the statistics of the seven different genres of movies. Let us note that the data provided in each row of the column summary measure are in terms of millions of dollars, except the coefficient of variation which is available in percentage. The data about the documentary films has not been included because the movie of our concern is not a documentary movie.
The data is totally in favor of the action movies, as you can see that the action movies have the best average gross total over the box office. However, the coefficient of variation among the action movies is also very large, that is the variation among the success of action movies is quite large as much as 54%. The next genre of adventurous movies also has the same variation but lesser average.
The worst performer on the box office has been the horror movies. The Thriller movies have a fair revenue generation and a quite low variability of about 32%.
Thus, it is recommended that phantom invasion should be an Action movie.
The performance of the Sequels
The plot of weekly income of the Transformers per theater and its sequel the revenge of the fallen has been shown as follows.

This is obvious from the charts that as compared to the original movie the sequel did its business lower in the opening weeks but the business was better later on. Thus, it is obvious that the sequel is doing lesser business in the opening weeks which is a fact of more concern than the business done later .The more descriptive data about the same can be found in Appendix-I.
Box Office Takings of a movie
The scatter plot of the Box Office takings compared to the opening weekend opening sales has been shown under to predict the box office total revenue when the first week sales are known. This is obvious from the positive and steep slope of the tread line that the predictions of the Gross sales on the basis of the first week sales are highly dependable. This can be confirmed from the R square value which is 0.575708638, which says a strong dependence is about60%.
The slope of the tread line 2.194583856 and makes an intercept of 55.04151869. The value of the slope shows the rate at which the first week tickets are getting converted into the gross totals, while the intercept tells us the value of the gross when the first week takings are almost nill.

Another estimate between the budget and the gross taking of the movies at the box office has been shown below. The slope of the tread line shows a positive dependency of the gross earnings of a movie on the budget, but the plot has a very low coefficient of determination (=0.174792). Thus it cannot be made sure that a good budget would necessarily improve the chances of good business done by the movie.

Audience for the Movie
The graph below shows the drama movies are liked by the males and the females alike, while the action movies are favored among the males. The Romantic movies on the other hand are favored by the ladies. So, the phantom invasion should be intended for the males.

The graph below shows that though the dramas are favored by all the genres, the action movies are favored by the GenY. Thus, they are the intended audience for this movie in concern.
