1. 1.      Introduction

This essay focuses upon the relationship between the young members of the society and the relationship they have formed with their parents. This relationship is violent, isolated and strange, which is also brought out by the specific situation which the question reflects. The following sections of the essay reflect upon the situation and I will critically analyze the causes and the unwanted effect that is being created in the society. Also, psychology of the growing children would be discussed in the middle sections of this essay, with reference to some human development theories. Also, the essay attempts to elaborate upon the positive youth development, healthy living and the ways to combat the problem of aloofness and strangeness in the youth, by initiating social work with them.

The concern of the parents of their kids is unconditional. The affection and love which they possess for them is irrespective of any cultural premise, national boundary or ethnic familiarity. The bond is driven naturally by the birth of their children. Such relationships therefore always are comprised of both encouragement, but also come along number of insecurities. The clash is because of the generation gap; the girl finds it ok to party and stay out late with her boyfriend whereas the parents are disapproving of this act(Geldens, P, Lincoln, S & Hodkinson, 2011). The degraded health of the girl is the matter of worry and her ‘goth’ appearance is the most disturbing and pressing concern for the parents. The health related issues are the ones which get minimum attention when it comes to a healthy living. However, modernism as the corollary of industrialization has got a tight hold of masses across the world, the lifestyles have been acquired according to the living conditions and they are adaptive in their own ways but the degrading health condition requires a tenacious concern.The prerequisite to work with the addicts is to possess a considerable amount of patience, compassion and a bundle of optimism(Ewis, A 2009). There is a strong possibility that probably the parents might have had imposed their expectations on her, which forces her to stay out of the house till late, or that the atmosphere in the family is indifferent (e.g. clashes between the parents/lack of resources), which further added a void between the two relationships. The issue should be treated compassionately and with true concerns in the case where there are such possibilities like drug addiction, spoiled company and deteriorated health. Therefore, the situation which the topic reflects remains quite subjective, however it brings out the fact that not all the youth undergo such transitions or the transitions to an extreme there is always a level/degree of the grief, pain or mental pressure they undergo which determines the effect they have on themselves.

2.2 Facts related to the issue

A group would be working towards the growth of an individual at a spiritual level. Group work is to include a small number of addicts and they should be taught to deal with stress. The technique is Stress management; it would ensure that the addicts undergo regular meditation, which is the first step forward to release the negative thoughts and attitudes. Once they are put to a habit of meditating even for a few minutes in a day, gradually it helps them effectively to grow in a spiritual sense. The opiates that enter the brain once they are taken and the effects they produce are dizziness, irritation, unconsciousness, unruly conduct and the brain goes out of control, which are solely responsible for the disconnected conduct of the girl towards her parents. Meditation is the right mode which acts as a weapon by efficiently reducing stress levels in an individual and thus producing a sensation of relief that works against the urge to take slow poisons or go violent in nature.Also the rehab centers have the responsibility to put a check on how active the person is, thus techniques like expression, talking, painting writing or dancing would be employed, as such activities ensure stress release efficiently, especially for the people of this age group (Social Workers, 2012).

3.2 Importance of the work and development theories Since it is sad to find the youth under the grasp of addiction to drugs or sexual obsession which is almost ubiquitous, it becomes one’s moral responsibility to move towards a healthy growth of the individual. One has to become selfless in terms of finding a permanent solution to this serious problem that is rapidly eating the core of the society. Every culture and nationality thus has to propose a basic need to attack at the center of the whole idea of drugging .i.e.  the ‘reason’ has to be remarkably worked upon; in this social process the major causing factors like the peer pressure, the depression in youth, work pressure or suffering relationships of the addict, need to be evaluated and then be resolved to a maximum possible extent (Pilkington, 2007). Instead of indulging into an argument or going against an adolescent’s cognitive behavior, it is necessary at the part of the parents to address them with care and affection. ConclusionThe solution to the problem is to approach the rehabilitation centers that employ many professional techniques to treat young people who have been diverted in life and are themselves the cause of such a chaotic health and quality of life. In a society, there must be present many such girls who behave in the same manner, there might also be present countless reasons explaining the adverse change in their behavior. It is necessary to put a stop at the rapid growth of the western concepts as pointed in relation to the Oriental philosophy(Hall, S & Jefferson, T 2006). Also there is a need to understand the psychology of the youth and then react accordingly. If needed, the human developmental organizations should be sought for help, so that the situation doesn’t turn out to be a hindrance in the healthy growth of such girls and families to which they belong. Therefore there is a strong need to go by various social programs and understanding the guidelines they possess to treat such cases. Once the youth is understood and is approached in the right manner, the westernizing element would not take itself to any extreme which might be incurable.
